MDRT 2027 requirements in Singapore

To qualify for MDRT in Singapore you need S$72,400 of commission, S$217,200 of premium or S$125,400 of income in a year. You only need to meet one of the three. Court of the Table is three times that, and Top of the Table six times.

2027 membership is counted on what you sell in 2026. MDRT had not published its 2027 Singapore chart when we last checked on 27 October 2026, so these are its latest published figures, for 2026, and the closest guide for now. We'll update this page when the 2027 chart is out.

  • Half must be risk protection. At least S$36,200 of the commission, or S$108,600 of the premium, must come from products such as life, critical illness and disability income before anything else counts.
  • MDRT sets the requirement in US dollars (USD 87,000 of commission for 2026) and converts it for each country. The Singapore dollar figures above are MDRT's own.

The three ways to qualify

You only need to meet one, so it's worth checking where you stand on all three.

Commission: S$72,400
Eligible commission paid to you in the year. For regular premium life, critical illness and similar policies only first-year commission counts, so renewals on last year's sales don't. At least S$36,200 must come from risk protection.
Premium: S$217,200
Eligible premium paid by your clients in the year. First-year premium on risk products counts in full, but single premiums and top-ups count at only 6%. At least S$108,600 must come from risk protection.
Income: S$125,400
Your gross income from selling insurance and financial products in the year. At least USD 43,500 must come from new business written that year, and USD 43,500 from risk-protection products.

How to hit MDRT in the last three months

Sales stop counting on 31 December. If you're behind, what matters most is getting the meetings booked now.

  1. Work out the real gap. Put your year-to-date figure into the calculator above. At the end of September, being on pace means S$54,300 of commission; at S$45,000, the last three months need about S$9,133 each.
  2. Ask for your company's cut-off date. Cases have to be submitted and paid in time to count, and your company's year-end cut-off can be earlier than 31 December.
  3. Book the reviews that are due. A review done on time often turns up a gap the client already knows about: a new baby, a new job, a home loan.
  4. Go back to "let me think about it". Clients who weren't ready earlier in the year may be now. Ask what they wanted to think about.
  5. Ask for referrals while clients are happy. Right after a claim is paid or a review goes well.
  6. Check your mix. At least half must be risk protection. If most of this year has been investments or health insurance, the next cases need to be protection.

One warning: year-end pushes are when suitability slips. The balanced scorecard grades every case, and a poor grade costs more than a missed MDRT. How the balanced scorecard affects your pay.

The number comes from the follow-ups

S$6,033 a month is rarely one big case. It's the review you did on time, the birthday you remembered, and the referral you asked for while the client was happy. AdvisorKin keeps every client's dates and notes, and each morning tells you who to follow up and why.

Questions advisors ask

What does MDRT mean?
MDRT stands for the Million Dollar Round Table, a worldwide association of life insurance and financial services professionals, founded in 1927. Membership is for one year at a time, based on what you sold the year before, so advisors who make it once still have to qualify again each year.
What are the MDRT requirements in Singapore?
For 2026 membership, counted on 2025 sales, you need any one of: S$72,400 of eligible commission, S$217,200 of eligible premium, or S$125,400 of gross income from selling insurance and financial products. At least half of the commission or premium figure must come from risk-protection products such as life, critical illness and disability income.
What are the MDRT 2027 requirements for Singapore?
2027 membership is counted on what you sell in 2026. When we last checked, on 27 October 2026, MDRT had not published its 2027 Singapore chart, so the 2026 figures on this page (S$72,400 of commission, S$217,200 of premium or S$125,400 of income) are the closest guide. We will update this page when the new chart is out.
What are COT and TOT?
Court of the Table (COT) is three times the MDRT requirement and Top of the Table (TOT) is six times, on every method. In Singapore, COT is S$217,200 of commission, S$651,600 of premium or S$376,200 of income; TOT is S$434,400, S$1,303,200 or S$752,400.
What is the MDRT income method?
Instead of commission or premium, you qualify on your gross income from selling insurance and financial products: S$125,400 in Singapore. At least USD 43,500 of it must come from new business written in the year, and USD 43,500 from risk-protection products. The same sale can count towards both.
Can I still hit MDRT in the last three months of the year?
Put what you've done so far into the calculator above. If what's left works out to a monthly figure you've reached before, it's realistic. Book reviews and follow-ups early, check your company's year-end cut-off date, and make sure at least half of what's left is risk protection.
How much does an MDRT advisor earn in Singapore?
MDRT measures what you sold, not what you take home. Qualifying on commission means at least S$72,400 of eligible commission in the year, and on income at least S$125,400 of gross income from sales. What an advisor actually earns depends on their contract, renewal income and expenses.
Is MDRT hard to hit?
Spread over a year, S$72,400 of commission is about S$6,033 a month. Advisors who make it usually say it comes from steady work rather than one big case: regular first meetings, reviews that are actually done on time, and asking for referrals.
Does health insurance count towards MDRT?
Yes, under MDRT's Other Products, along with investments and advice fees. But at least half of the commission or premium figure must come from risk-protection products before anything under Other Products is counted.
How do I apply for MDRT?
After the production year ends, you apply through MDRT with your production confirmed by your company, agree to MDRT's code of ethics and pay the yearly dues. MDRT's own site has the current steps and dates.
Is AdvisorKin part of MDRT?
No. AdvisorKin is a client book for advisors in Singapore and is not connected to MDRT. The figures here are copied from MDRT's published Singapore chart; always check mdrt.org before you rely on them.
